"Imprisonment would be unfeasible. deportation is the only sensible response to someone who is here illegally. Its not an issue of race. "amnesty" is a term meant for someone seeking asylum from victimization."

"I am sorry these people feel they have all the rights of American Citizens and Legal Residents, when they violated our laws by crossing into this country without authorization of our government and took up residence and jobs. Every nation in the world regulates what immigrants can enter, and stay in their country, and our's is no different! As for the children of these undocumented aliens, who are wrongfully given American Citizenship, when their citizenship should rightfully be to the country their parents are citizens of, when the parents are deported, the children should go with them, because they are the responsibility of their parents, not American Taxpayers.

Our country established Immigration Quotas for a reason, and that reason was to prevent too many from coming into the country at one time, and upsetting the natural balance of our population. Those seeking American Citizenship are required to be of good moral character, and be able to speak, read and write English, which as we all see, is not the case of those entering illegally"

"Some of the most illiterate people in America are not immigrants. They are caucasians who were born here and who decide to live by the racist morals that they are brought up to believe are right. Morals based off of fear and greed. Immigrants are why America is where it is today. Although we aren't perfect, we are also by no means built on native soil, and the racism that built this country is clearly tearing it apart because people like you don't take the time to meet these people, actually label them as human beings, and try to understand their story. There are reasons these people are here that we could never understand in our life time because of the privlages we have been blessed with. These people deserve to have a chance at those same privileges because guaranteed, they will value them more than any born and raised american ever would because they have seen the other side. Accepting these people is what breeds compassion and life without compassion is cold and not worth all the privilage in the world."

"Picking the "low hanging fruit" will go a long way toward identifying and deporting illegals currently in this country. Many illegals end up in the courts for traffic violations or healthcare systems for their "free" healthcare. They do not have social security numbers. Promptly arresting and deporting these illegals with the cost covered by reduction in foreign aid to the country of orgin appears realistic. We must respect the laws of foreign countries . . . it's time our laws be respected too . . . which appears beyond the comprehension of those we elect to serve our interests."

"I am all for deportation of someone who enters my country illegally and breaks the law of the USA. IF these children that were sent here illegally are to stay...our government needs to have laws in place that outlines their right to stay and reasons that they will be deported....immediately....no gang affiliations, no drugs, learn to speak English, respect the customs and laws of the USA, stay in school and learn to support yourself, no children before marriage. NO lying, cheating or stealing. When you are married and have children, be able to support them. Learn to give and help others lawfully and stop being a taker. Life isn't easy, but you'll get out of life what you give. Other simple statements to live by.....do unto others, respect yourself, respect others, don't expect anyone to take care of you except yourself. Be a patriot and support the new country you've come to. Learn to love it and become an American. If you can do all of this, then we can help you to stay and be a part of our great nation and be a contributor to its success."

What some people don't speak English, does it make them an immigrant? Why is it so wrong for someone to cross the border? We a lot more problems we should be dealing with before illegal immigrants. Just to name a few Isis war terrorism. Deporting people for trying escape from something that could be evil, that's making our 'free country' to something else and if this goes on we'll see what happens. I say no to deport human beings."

"Every option should be available to remove all illegal immigrants. Start with putting our military on the border, protect the legal residents that live near it also. E-verify should be required of every employer: current and future hires, no appeals for illegals, clarify the "anchor baby" mistake. Until we have full employment, allow more highly educated and "vetted" immigrants into the country we are lowering our standards to an unacceptable level. We have created a huge underclass of invisible people, until it is time to collect welfare, section 8 or have more babies on the taxpayers dime."

"first of all, why in the world would be put our military in the border? We are not dealing with criminals, terrorist, Nazis here. I am sure that the military has more important things to worry about. If anything this is a diplomatic issue. Second, illegal immigrants are not obstructing US citizens from jobs, they work two different sectors in the economy! Most Illegal Immigrants work the service sector, primarily the agricultural sector and labor sector. I dont see Americans don't work those fields because most of us, given our opportunities are able to work better paid jobs. Moreover, we are losing jobs, yes, but not due to Illegal immigration, but to other countries overseas as companies move to other countries like India and China where labor is much cheaper. lastly, as illegal immigrants, they cannot receive welfare or any other type of social benefit, this is a complete misunderstanding. To qualify for welfare, a social security number is needed, which they don't have. As for the babies they have, they are going to be US citizens, so that should not be a problem, they will pay taxes and help our economy grow."

"America was founded by immigrants. Now we have a constitution that applies to U.S. citizens only! Meaning that illegal immigrants have no rights here. Just because immigrants came here back then does not mean it is still legal. Get citizenship or face the consequences. As for the children, it is the same thing as saying that bank robbers should be given a pardon because they were stealing for their families. The kids do not provide amnesty. When Illegal immigrants have kids and get deported, the foster care provided for those kids is funded by TANF, which is funded by U.S. healthcare. U.S. healthcare is funded by the federal budget which is money taken right out of taxpayers' wallets."

It makes me sick to think that I live in the same country with people that are ok with this sort of activity. I am very suprised that this sort of issue requires such controversy. I have no problem with immigrants coming to this country, legally. Let me say that again, LEGALLY. "What is being done to deport the criminals that come here to steal the American dream from those who were born here? This will never stop until we pass laws and enforce them against the people who hire them; such as heavy fines and/or suspending or pulling licenses of employers who profit by using them. If they can't get job's here, they have no reason to stay. Just think how our economy could benefit by millions of jobs that are now held by them, going to tax paying Americans who don't send the money out of the country. If we spend half the money that we spend trying to make life here easy for them on making it harder for them, this problem would be solved. The day they get here illegally they show no respect for our laws so why do we welcome them with open arms, pay for their health care put their kids in the welfare system. I think in the long run it will be a lot cheaper to send them home. If we need cheap labor that badly, give them a temporary visa make the people who hire them pay for it. If they run or violate any rules never allow them to return."

A QUICK FAST DEPORTATION needs to happen and ALL Elected Officials of these So Called Sanctuary Cities that try to stop it shall be arrested and STRIPPED OF their DUTIES the immediate RAID bust should include ALL Schools. "The key word to this whole situation is "illegal". Of course we should deport them. I realize that it is unrealistic to rope them all up at once and ship them off, but if the local and state law enforcement got involved, we could arrest a couple illegal aliens a day in every city. That will quickly add up. Obviously I believe we should send the children with their families instead of breaking them up. Having kids in America just so they can be citizens is cheating the system. If you want a family in America or any of the benefits provided for being American, then become a citizen. Don't put the burden on a country they claim to love and don't put the burden on their families. It's strange to think that the first thing they do in a country they supposedly want so badly to be in and respect is break a national law."

Also, these people do not pay all the taxes normal Americans do, and this is stealing from the American people as a whole. And, as we have known since we were all VERY small, stealing is against the law. If they want to live here, they need to follow the laws. "It's a necessary PART of the solution. There is currently no way to monitor visitors, which is de facto condonement of not leaving. Those here illegally should be rigorously deported BEFORE they procreate or get comfortable, mitigating valid concerns about splitting up families. The problem is not with deportation, it’s with not deporting them soon enough. Obviously, exceptions should be made for amnesty cases. Also, we need border enforcement, & visa policies tightening the reigns on our Arab “allies” who, as 9/11 clearly showed, have no trouble entering legally. We need a strong labor visa program & enforcement that makes hiring illegals a financial liability. Finally, a labor movement that demands living wages for citizens & a populace that eschews getting something for nothing as being the standard-of-living-killer that it is would go a long way toward decreasing demand. As long as there is demand for their work, & as long as we provide services to them that should be reserved for citizens, we will continue to have a sub-class of poverty-stricken separatists who strain our resources. Being here without permission is a criminal act."

"Deportation for criminal illegal aliens essential. Border enforcement must increased to preclude their return. Holding accountable the source Country Government is where the true problem lies. Having done illegal alien repatriation under an Immigration and Customs Enforcement contract, I can speak to this subject with some knowledge. Having personally repatriated illegal aliens to 17 different countries all over the world I have discovered the following:
Most illegal aliens are afforded little or no civil rights or support by their home government.
They are uneducated, live in poverty and seek a better life for them and family members.
They will do anything and everything to better their lives, up to and including, breaking the law to get here, Canada, etc.
Our government needs to cease all federal aid to countries who do not respect their own people and provide for them. The U.S. is not and should not be the savior of all persons in all places. We cannot afford it and it is unrealistic to think this can be done. In the 1960's & 1970's there really was no problem for the average American to find a job. Look at the employment conditions now for young Americans. Ban illegals and criminals, not firearms."

"Whenever illegal immigrants step across the border, it costs taxpayers a lot of money to provide these law-breakers with benefits. The immigrants take away jobs and residences, a reward they receive by cheating the immigration system. Think of all of the homeless people who are legal citizens of who could use a job or a place to call home, and then picture someone coming in without permission from the government and taking those possibilities away from them. Illegal immigrants do more harm than good. Although some are hard-working, they did not earn the right to be here. The legal immigrants are those who belong here, yet the bad reputation of illegals causes prejudice toward those who did not break the law to get in. This is really sad to hear because legal immigrants go through a long process to get in. Illegal immigrants did not wait in line to become a citizen, they entered and took up the spots of the legal immigrants. They should not be rewarded for their law-breaking, and instead should be deported and then come back if they are willing to enter the country legally. It's great if they want to enter and contribute to our country positively, but in order to do this they must enter legally."

We need politicians with guts who can stand up and address the problem and make a plan to deport these illegal aliens, or politically spoken, (undocumented citizens). They come here. They steal identities, steal jobs (the employer is as guilty as the illegal), we pay their taxes. Quite frankly, we're babysitters for these individuals. Mass deportation is the only solution. Competition is what makes people better, work harder, strive to be better. If we remove the competition we will not progress."

"Deportation is never a good solution, because it has to be paid for it, in most cases the tax payer has to do so. Imagine 12 Million immigrants have to be deported costing $ 1000-5000 each, in total 12-60 Billion US Dollar. Right now it would be much better to use the money to create jobs. From my point of view there should be a handling fee for illegal immigrants to receive a legal status by taking e.g.exams. So instead of letting the tax payer pay for deportation, it would make more sense to let immigrants pay to get a legal resident status e.g. $ 1000 per year or well in total 12 Billion per year. Once they have a legal status they cannot work any longer below minimum wage which would mean an end for wage dumping. Competition in the labor market would then bring back jobs to native US citizens and if several immigrants then do not find any longer jobs, they would go back to their home country on their own. But as long they have an illegal status they will be hired illegally destroying millions of American jobs."

"When big issues arise its always easier to blame it on someone. In this case its the immigrants. My family has experienced this with my stepfather. As the pro argue that the immigrants are taking the "American jobs", the immigrants are doing the jobs that Americans dont want to do. The most famous argument is that the immigrants recieve free benifits while the Americans pay taxes, but in order to recieve those types of benifits such as welfare and medical you need to be a citizen with a social security. And what I found suprising in the case of my stepfather is that he to as an "illegal" immigrant paid taxes. He was a good enough citizen to pay for those who recieve welfare because they do not want to work in the fields or clean peoples homes like an immigrant but not good enough to live here and forced out leaving a family of 8 behind. Currently my stepfather is serving 6 months in Arizona for trying to pass the "border". The border that is made to separate the exact same dirt on both sides do to a stereotypical idea of a hispanic man. "No, you need to be a person with a social security CARD, something many manage either to obtain or do without, and which you can buy here on the streets. And that defense is as common (and incorrect) as the pro-folks who claim illegals are taking "our" jobs. It's not true on either side. For the record, I've worked as both a maid & food service worker. It's not that we don't want to do that type of work, it's that we're unwilling & unable to work for third-world wages that become the industry norm when there are illegals who are willing to accept them. For them, this standard of living is higher. For us, it's lower. This drasticaly lowers the wages for everyone. I live in Texas. There are places here where you cannot get a job if you don't speak Spanish. Now you tell me how that's fair. Your stepfather chose to start his family here illegally, but I'm still sorry he couldn't do it the right way & that you've had to suffer. "Land of the free" does not refer to his "right" to break the law, or even to BE here. That's not what that means.Your stepfather chose to come here illegally and raise a family. Being free to make choices doesn't mean there aren't consequences. The responsibility for you and your family rests squarely on him."

Stricter laws would bee easier on everyone and everything. Just put yourself in the immigrants shoes and then see how deportation will completely ruin this country"

And what about the families that would be torn apart? Is it okay to force a child's parents out of the country and leave the child? Or make the child go as well and lose all of the opportunity they would have had? It is unfair to the child.

These are the words that Americans are supposed to pride themselves on. Who are we if we refuse to live up to the very words that helped us struggle through had times? Imagine what could be accomplished by the people that are not allowed to come to the land of the free? Imagine what they could do if they were allowed to work for the opportunity that so many other people are just handed? You need to secure the border to stop the rest of the immigrants from coming to the country and try to make the people here citizens. Don't forget, that "white people" weren't born here either. The only true citizens of the U.S are the Native Americans. And they were kicked out wrongly.

I don't think it is a good solution because it tears apart families and doesn't completely solve illegal immigration. I think that it should be easier to obtain a Visa or Green Card. I also think however, that there should be a cap on how many people can get one each year. Otherwise we would face a serious overpopulation issue."

So why not cut the chatter about deporting and separating families and instead we worry about find a real way to keep the rest out. The government knows the benefits of having illegals here far outweigh the cons. So what is the real problem here? That they came here looking for a new life, these people don't even want to be citizens, they just want a Visa so they can supply a better life for their children. If you lived a poor, uneducated life, would you not do the same to come here and give your children and opportunity to live a better life?"

They just accept those jobs at a pay rate that no legal american, immigrant or resident, would accept. The only reason for any one to hire illegal workers is they will always be willing to work for less than a legal worker. That is the only way that they can get a job.
You say that the first people that came here were illegal. You are wrong. When they came here, there were no people living here, so there were no laws , so they could not have been breaking any laws. Think before you write."

"Not all illegal immigrants come here and just sit around. Not all illegal immigrants send money back to their families in their home country, or even HAVE family there. There ARE those out there that come here hoping to become an American citizen, but past mistakes or certain conditions may prevent them from doing so.

The people who get kicked out that have been here for years can get disavowed in THEIR OWN COUNTRY. Is that fair to them? To send them back with NOTHING? To rip them apart from any family they have here in the U.S. or plop them back in who-knows-where? I don't think so.

I don't COMPLETELY disagree with deportation, but I highly disagree with the current system. If you send those people back, send them back with something that will get them on their feet back home. Don't just keep them holed up in jail and then kick them out or refuse to help them because of a record they may have set when they were seventeen.

All we're doing is proving to people that we're not as great a country as they thought. Is that what we want? To be a two-faced country? I sure as heck don't. I'd rather try and change the system to reduce this in a not-so-crappy evil fashion.

Meh, I'll just shut up now."
