Description:

[Editor’s Note: The STArt website has not been updated since 2003, and the Oregon Public Education Network, the program that funded its creation, was disbanded in 2006 after having met its goal of connecting all Oregon schools to the internet.]

“In March of 1997 the Oregon Arts Commission with leadership from Oregon’s Regional Arts Councils was awarded a grant to develop a variety of Web-based resources. Teachers, artists, and arts specialists gathered from around the state to help guide the conceptual development and preliminary identification and development of arts resources for STArt.”

Mission:

“STArt provides support for teachers in art. It is a place to begin. While initially the focus has been on gathering existing visual arts and music resources for K-8 teachers, it is hoped that STArt will expand and evolve over time.

STArt is designed to grow by inviting teachers and arts specialists to evaluate existing resources and submit adaptations and additions to the site.”
