Not Clearly Pro or Con to the question "Should the Government Allow Immigrants Who Are Here Illegally to Become US Citizens?"
"H.R. 4437 would harm the middle class because it aims to deport 12 million undocumented immigrants whose work and economic contributions the middle class relies on. It’s also worth mentioning the implausibility of identifying and deporting this many people. Setting aside the immigrant rights perspective entirely, that would be a very expensive proposition for middle-class taxpayers. The Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice just don’t have the resources to prosecute, incarcerate and deport that many people. This bill is not honest about the costs of undertaking such a large-scale effort."
